Services

Floor coating projects

Garage floor epoxy

The classic: a ground floor, a pigmented base coat, a full broadcast of color flakes, and a clear topcoat.

Polyaspartic coatings

One-day systems that cure fast and don't yellow in sunlight. Often the better pick for garages that get afternoon sun.

Metallic epoxy

Swirled, marbled finishes for showroom garages, basements, and shops.

Patios and porches

UV-stable coatings for covered patios, porches, and pool decks.

Basements and interiors

Sealed, easy-to-clean concrete floors for basements, laundry rooms, and sunrooms.

Shops and commercial

Thicker systems for workshops, warehouses, and light commercial floors.

Colors

Popular flake blends

Most garages get a full flake broadcast: the floor is covered edge to edge in vinyl color chips, then sealed under a clear topcoat. These are common blends; your installer will have physical samples to look at in your garage's light.

Classic Gray flake blend sampleClassic GrayLight gray with white, charcoal, and silver flakes. The most popular garage look.
Graphite flake blend sampleGraphiteDark charcoal base. Hides tire marks and dust well.
Sandstone flake blend sampleSandstoneWarm tan and brown. Pairs with red brick and stone homes.
Slate Blue flake blend sampleSlate BlueCool blue-gray with navy flakes. Clean, modern look.
Pewter flake blend samplePewterNeutral greenish gray. Good for shops and patios.
Midnight flake blend sampleMidnightNear-black with silver flakes. Showroom style.

Swatches are generated samples to show the general look of each blend, not photos of a specific product.

What's in a good floor

What a good coating quote should include

Almost every coating failure comes from the prep, not the product. Ask any installer how they handle these points.

  • TopcoatClear polyaspartic or polyurethane. Takes the tire wear, chemicals, and UV.
  • Flake broadcastVinyl color chips thrown to full coverage, then scraped smooth.
  • Base coatPigmented epoxy or polyaspartic that bonds to the concrete.
  • PrepDiamond grinding, crack and pit repair, moisture check, vacuumed clean.
  • ConcreteYour slab. It should be cured at least 28 days and reasonably dry.

What will your floor cost?

Size, the condition of the concrete, and the coating system change the price more than anything else. Our OKC cost guide breaks it down by garage size.

Questions

Common questions

Who will actually coat my floor?

An independent local floor coating contractor. OKC Epoxy Floors is a referral service: we match your request with an installer who serves your area, and you work with them directly on price, scheduling, and the job itself.

Does this cost me anything?

No. Requesting a quote is free and you're never obligated to hire anyone. Contractors pay us for referrals.

Will lots of companies call me?

No. We send each request to one installer, so you won't get a flood of calls.

Epoxy or polyaspartic: which should I get?

Both work well when the prep is right. Polyaspartic cures faster and holds up better to sun, and usually costs more. Our comparison page walks through the trade-offs.

How long does the job take?

Most two-car garages take one to two days, plus cure time before you park on it: about a day for polyaspartic systems and up to a week for some epoxies.

Can my floor be coated if it has cracks or old paint?

Usually. Installers grind off old paint and sealers and fill cracks and pits before coating. Badly heaving or crumbling slabs may need repair first. Mention it on the form.

Why not a DIY kit?

Store kits are thin water-based epoxy over an acid-etched floor. They look good at first and often peel under hot tires within a year or two. Professional systems are thicker, ground-in, and typically last 10 years or more.
